According to Louisiana police, an entire family of four, consisting of a wife, husband, and their two young children, has not been in contact since they departed from New Orleans on a bus two months ago with the intention of moving to Houston.
The family members include 27-year-old mother Steys Yanira David-Funez, 31-year-old father Ramon Ruiz Crisanto, and their daughters, 4-year-old Jazzlyn Esther Ruiz David and 1-year-old Dara Ismeray Ruiz David.
Reportedly, David-Funez’s father notified authorities about their disappearance.
The family was driven by David-Funez’s father to the Greyhound bus station at 1001 Loyola Ave. in New Orleans on Nov. 30, 2023, with the stated destination of Houston. David-Funez’s father received a text message on the same date indicating that they had arrived safely.
However, subsequent attempts to contact the family were unsuccessful. David-Funez’s father tried reaching out to his daughter during the same week of their supposed arrival but did not receive any response. Further inquiries with relatives in Texas revealed that the family had not reached their destination.
As of Monday, it has been 67 days since the family left New Orleans. They are described as Hispanic, and photos have been provided by the police. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is urged to contact the New Orleans police Sixth District detectives at 504-658-6060.
