The latest buzz in Bollywood has Tuba and Akshay Kumar at the center of controversy, with rumors circulating that Tuba was unhappy with her scenes being removed from the movie Bhoot Bangla, directed by Pradeep Sarkar. However, the director has vehemently denied these allegations, stating that Tuba is not unhappy and that he has never received any complaints from her.
“I don’t know who is spreading these negative rumors, but I can assure you that Tuba is not upset with me,” Sarkar said in a statement. “I have worked with Tuba on eight films, and if she was unhappy, she would have definitely told me. I am the director of Bhoot Bangla, and I make the decisions about what to keep and what to cut. The film has been a huge success, but some people are trying to spread negative propaganda.”
Sarkar also stated that Akshay Kumar had never asked him to edit any scenes from the film, and that he always shows the final cut to the actors before releasing the film. He added that those spreading false rumors should be ashamed of themselves.
Bhoot Bangla, which released on April 17, starred Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, and Tuba, among others. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has been performing well at the box office.
The film is also a tribute to the late Anjan Sriram, who was a renowned actor known for his role as a jailer in the film Shajale. Sriram passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84.
