Karachi-based 19-year-old Ryan Habib has made history by completing the grueling Ironman Challenge, becoming the youngest Pakistani to achieve this feat. The Ironman Challenge, a part of the Indoor Sports tournament, is one of the toughest competitions, where athletes swim 3.8 kilometers, cycle 180 kilometers, and run 42.2 kilometers non-stop.
Ryan Habib completed the challenge in 15 hours, 20 minutes, and 6 seconds, while setting a new record in the open water swimming category in Woodlands, Texas, completing the event in 1 hour, 45 minutes, and 36 seconds. His cycling segment, which covered 180 kilometers, took him 7 hours, 27 minutes, and 49 seconds to complete. The running segment, which included a 5-hour, 38-minute, and 57-second marathon, was completed by Ryan with ease. After completing the final segment, Ryan Habib waved the Pakistani flag triumphantly, celebrating his historic achievement.
The Ironman Challenge requires athletes to complete three events back-to-back without any break. Meanwhile, Islamabad United will face Karachi in the PSX Cricket League, while Babar Azam has been in excellent form, scoring 103 runs in the league, including 4 fours and 12 sixes. The Asian Beach Games are underway in China, where Pakistani wrestlers have made a stunning impression, securing two medals in the wrestling events.
