Pakistan’s Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has stated that the rapidly increasing population poses a significant challenge to the country’s health system, citing the burden on healthcare services due to the rapid population growth. Addressing the Health and Nutrition Conference, he emphasized the need for the general public to adopt a healthy lifestyle, strengthen the country’s healthcare infrastructure, and prioritize preventing illnesses.
According to Kamal, controlling the rapidly increasing population is also essential. He noted that Pakistan’s current healthcare system is limited to treating diseases and that the country needs to shift its focus towards preventive healthcare.
The Coordinator of Emergency Operations Center, Sindh, met with Health Minister Mustafa Kamal. Kamal stated that the Ministry of Health has developed a new health strategy with the help of international experts, with the objective of reducing the burden on hospitals and keeping the public healthy. He emphasized the need to improve the country’s healthcare system, which he described as a “healthcare system like a coin system.” Kamal said that the country lacks hospitals, doctors, medical staff, clean water, and medication.
