Pakistani runners made a strong impression at the Boston Marathon 2026, showcasing their abilities on the international stage. Thirteen Pakistani runners, including those from Pakistan and the overseas Pakistani community, successfully completed the prestigious marathon held on Monday. Karachi’s Muhammad Amjad Ali, a police constable, was the top finisher among the Pakistani participants, completing the race in an impressive 2 hours 42 minutes and 45 seconds, earning him the title of the fastest Pakistani runner this year. Amjad expressed his happiness at achieving a personal best time, saying, “This was my first World Major Marathon, and I’m thrilled to have completed it in a respectable time. The uphill and downhill sections made the race challenging, but I’m satisfied with my performance and grateful to all my supporters.”
Along with Amjad, other notable Pakistani finishers included Syed Hamza from the US, who completed the race in 2:51:06, and Nizar Niazi, who finished in 3:01:44. Mohammad Faisal Saleh from Norway achieved a personal best of 3:10:36, while Prince Hussain and female runner Bashiri Anjum from the UK also put up impressive performances. Mahreen Sheikh from the UK also achieved a personal best in the event. Faisal Saleh stated that completing the Boston Marathon with a personal best was a memorable moment for him, as he had completed his sixth star finisher in the Abbott World Marathon Majors. He expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani running community for their continued support and encouragement.
Besides Faisal Saleh, three other Pakistani runners completed the sixth star finisher in the Boston Marathon, including Dr. Jahanzib Moghal from Karachi, who finished in 5:01:39. The other finishers included Noorishad Ali from Karachi, who completed the race in 4:15:33, and Bilal Ahmed from Islamabad, who finished in 3:23:53 despite suffering from a knee injury. Bilal expressed his gratitude to his family and the Islamabad Running Club for their support, saying that completing the race was possible only due to their encouragement.
The Boston Marathon 2026 was a testament to the determination and hard work of the Pakistani runners, who continued to make their mark on the international running scene.
