The Iranian President also criticized US President Donald Trump for trying to restrict the Iranian people’s rights, emphasizing that Iran cannot exploit its nuclear rights. Raisi went on to say that the enemy has failed in its objectives, targeting infrastructure, schools, and hospitals. He also stated that the enemy’s intentions to destroy Iranian civilization and send it back to the Stone Age are evident in their statements.
In a separate statement, Iranian delegation leader Bagher Qalibaf said that progress has been made in talks with the US, but there is still a long way to go. He stated that the US has announced a blockade, which is a foolish and absurd decision. Qalibaf also said that other countries can pass through the Strait of Hormuz, but Iran cannot.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that the US blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas is a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement. The US media reported that the Iranian negotiating team is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Monday. However, Iran has yet to make a decision regarding sending a delegation to Islamabad for the second round of talks with the US.
US President Donald Trump announced that his representatives are traveling to Islamabad for talks with Iran. Trump also stated that the US will not repeat the mistakes of the Obama era. Iranian authorities have reportedly arrested four individuals on charges of espionage, including two foreigners.
