Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a positive trend for the week, with the 100-index closing at a record high of 67,191 points, a rise of 11% from the previous week. The positive trend was sustained throughout the week, with the 100-index fluctuating between 62,518 and 68,290 points. The weekly trading volume reached 3.3 billion shares, valued at Rs203.6 billion.
Market capitalization declined by Rs1,748 billion, reaching Rs184.73 trillion. Despite the previous day’s decline, gold prices rose in the country, with the expectation of a 6.4% inflation rate for the fiscal year 2026.
Speaking to the media, Ali Hyder, the head of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the decline in LG supply prices has led to a decrease in prices. The exchange rate in the country’s currency markets also reversed, with a slight increase in gold prices.
