Pakistan’s Minister for Information, Ataullah Tarar, has stated that the country’s mediation efforts have been recognized globally, and the recent announcement of a ceasefire and its swift implementation are a significant achievement. In an interview on Geo News’ program “Geo Pakistan,” Ataullah Tarar said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were all actively involved in the process.
According to Tarar, US President Donald Trump had also said that he was in contact with the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal. Pakistan’s mediation efforts have been strengthened in the face of growing tensions between the US and Iran, while US Vice President Kamala Harris has also played an important role in behind-the-scenes negotiations. Ataullah Tarar stated that the current positive trend in global markets is a result of diplomatic progress.
The Federal Minister assured that the public will be kept informed of the next steps, stating that the Prime Minister has called a Cabinet meeting to discuss all matters, including petroleum products. The country had faced a shortage of petroleum products in the region, and we have managed the supply chain better. He termed today as a day of pride for the Pakistani nation, like a “battle for justice,” and said that the next 48 hours and the coming days are crucial, and Pakistan must demonstrate its responsibility and play its role.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the “courageous and insightful” initiative, saying that he offered his heartfelt thanks to the leaders of both countries. Ataullah Tarar said that a very big war had been averted, and the entire region had been saved, and that a lot of work needs to be done for long-lasting peace. The current priority is to establish peace, he added.
Ataullah Tarar stated that the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal had contacted various countries, communicated with their counterparts, and the Deputy Prime Minister had also visited various countries, achieving success. He said that the time has come for Pakistan to play its role internationally, as our elders had said that Pakistan would play a key role internationally.
In an interview with Indian TV, Hamid Mir emphasized that Pakistan had played the role of an independent and active mediator. A passing grade of at least 52% has been set for MBBS and 47% for BDS students.
