Pakistan has successfully completed its foreign payment of $1.43 billion, as stated by the State Bank of Pakistan. The payment of $1.03 billion in principal and $140.3 million in interest was made on April 7 to settle the international bond. According to the central bank, this payment was due today but Pakistan managed to settle it a day in advance.
The State Bank of Pakistan announced in its statement that the remittances have shown a decline of 16.5% on a monthly basis and 5.5% on an annual basis. Industry sources have revealed that crude oil prices have decreased by as much as 15%. The All Pakistan Jewellers Association has reported a rise in gold prices by 15,700 rupees per tola, making it 504,162 rupees per tola.
In contrast to the slight increase in gold prices on the previous day, the prices dropped today. Nipra has also sought opinions from the public and stakeholders alike.
