Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 witnessed another nail-biting match as Multan Sultans secured a six-wicket victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the eighth match of the tournament. The match, played at the Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore, saw Hyderabad Kingsmen win the toss and choose to bat first, scoring 225 runs in 20 overs with the loss of five wickets. The opening batsmen, Muhammad Mazhar, and Sharjeel Khan, played a destructive inning, scoring 62 and 51 runs respectively off 26 balls. The other notable batsmen included Saaim Ayub, 27; Usman Khan, 25; Saad Ali, 23; and Arfan Khan, 22 runs.
Multan Sultans’ Muhammad Wasim took two wickets, while Ashton Turner, Peter Siddle, and Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket each. In the chase, Shahbaz Khan and Steve Smith started with a destructive inning. However, Smith was dismissed for 46 runs. Shahbaz Khan played an unbeaten 106 runs, leading his team to a six-wicket victory and earning the player of the match award. The other notable batsmen included Shan Masood, 29; and Arfaan Manhas, 26 runs. The Hyderabad Kingsmen’s Saaim Ayub took two wickets, while Mehesh Thikesan and Hassaan Khan took one wicket each.
This victory marked the second win for Multan Sultans, while it was the third loss for Hyderabad Kingsmen. With this win, Multan Sultans became the first team in the PSL history to win six consecutive matches. The PSL technical committee rejected Fakhru Zaman’s appeal against two-match ban and allegations of ball tampering. Quetta Gladiators’ fast bowler, Ahmed Daniyal, mentioned that the PSL this season has become a big platform for him, and he will look to make a comeback to the national team.
Yasir Khan stated that in Rawalpindi, seniors and juniors support each other, and the team’s atmosphere is great. In a post-match interview with the media, Sharjeel Khan said that it’s not easy for anyone to come to the Kumbh Mela. PSL season 11’s eighth match winner, Multan Sultans’ captain Ashton Turner, said that Shahbaz Khan played an incredible inning.

In the World Squash Qualifiers, Asim Khan achieved success, while Hamza Khan faced a set defeat. Fakhru Zaman filed an appeal with the PSL technical committee against two-match ban and allegations of ball tampering.
