The gas crisis in India has taken a severe turn, with a report by American publication Bloomberg stating that the shortage of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) has reached alarming levels due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The crisis has resulted in a significant surge in gas prices across the country, affecting business activities in the capital city of Delhi.
According to the report, the prices of LPG have increased significantly, with the business community in Delhi feeling the pinch. Experts warn that the shortage of supply and global tensions may exacerbate the energy crisis in the coming days.
The United States has taken a firm stance on the crisis, with President Donald Trump stating that the new leadership in Iran has been moderate so far. US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has emphasized that Iran must discontinue its missile and drone program, as well as its support for terrorist groups. Former Director of the US Counter Terrorism Center, John Canty, has suggested that the US should not deploy its ground troops to Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran has released a video on social media showing its Air Force commander, Brigadier General Hossein Salami, addressing his “mother” – a veiled reference to the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In Afghanistan, heavy rainfall has caused widespread destruction in several provinces, with US Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, assuring that the US will regain control of the Strait of Hormuz in due course.
The Israeli military has confirmed that 261 of its soldiers have been injured in the conflict, although the number of fatalities remains unclear. Lebanon has expelled Iran’s ambassador, Mohammad Reza Sheibani, who was deemed a persona non grata by the country’s foreign ministry. European Council President, Antonio Costa, has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in resolving the Middle East crisis in a phone call with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif.
Iran has accused Israel of attacking a desalination plant in Kuwait, which is used to convert seawater into fresh water.
