The Model Court of Dadu has acquitted all the accused in the triple murder case of Rabbab Chaudhry’s family members. The court had reserved its verdict after hearing the statements of witnesses and evidence in the previous hearing. Rabbab Chaudhry has announced that she will appeal the decision to the High Court and the Supreme Court. Speaking to the media outside the court, Rabbab Chaudhry said that the decision was made by the State Court, but the people are aware of the truth, and they have already won the case in the people’s court.
She said that she has emerged victorious in this struggle and her resolve to get justice remains unchanged. She said that it is strange that no one has been punished, and even those who were on the run for three years have not been punished. This case was not limited to her family; it was a fight against the feudal system and the oppressed people. With this decision, our morale has increased even more. Rabbab Chaudhry said that she will appeal the decision to the High Court and the Supreme Court, as her five fingers are not equal. She expressed her resolve that her morale was high before and it is high even now.
On the other hand, the lawyer for the accused, Salahuddin Panhwar, said in a conversation with Geo News that three people were killed in a day and night in the Sardari system, and there were three witnesses and medical evidence in the case. He said that we could have been punished on the basis of these evidence, and we will appeal the decision to the High Court and the Supreme Court.
It is worth noting that on January 17, 2018, Rabbab Chaudhry’s father, grandfather, and uncle were killed. The case is registered against seven accused, including Sardar Chandio and Brahman Chandio, at the Mehar Police Station. Rabbab Chaudhry came into the spotlight when she went to the local court of Dadu barefoot, protesting that the accused were not being held accountable.
The Chief Justice of Sindh at that time, Thaqib Nisar, took notice of the case and issued a directive to complete the case within three months. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has stated that it appreciates and supports Pakistan’s efforts to mediate peace talks between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Federal Minister for Interior, Senator Talal Chaudhry, said that there is no case in which the involved individuals have not been caught. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has taken a strong notice of a reported incident at Lady Wellesley Hospital in Lahore, in which a video was made of patients in the operation theater.
The University of Karachi has officially announced that physical classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday. The administration has issued a notification in this regard, stating that classes will be held in two sessions in the morning and evening.
