In an exclusive interview with Geo News in Lahore, Saam Ayub, the star all-rounder and top-order batsman of the Hyderabad Kings, expressed his determination to learn and improve despite being off-form. Ayub, known for his aggressive batting, emphasized that the pre-season expectations for the team’s environment were far exceeded.
“I’m excited to play with a new team,” Ayub said, “I’ve already played with the team’s players, and I’m confident that we have a great dynamic. Our captain, Marlon Samuels, is a great leader, and the team culture is fantastic. We’re all enjoying ourselves, and it’s a great atmosphere to be in.”
Ayub, who is one of the most expensive players in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), pointed out that high expectations come with playing for any team, especially when you have an Australian captain and coach like the Kings. “Our mindset is to play attacking cricket, and our management has been working on developing an aggressive approach in all three departments – batting, bowling, and fielding,” he explained.
