In a significant crackdown on terrorism, the Punjab Police have arrested 36 suspected terrorists across various districts of the province within the last month. According to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) spokesperson, these arrests were made during operations conducted in different parts of the province. In Faisalabad and Jhelum, the CTD arrested two terrorists and seized explosive materials from their possession. The CTD also conducted an operation in Dera Ismail Khan, where the suspects were arrested and their involvement in terrorist activities was confirmed.
The operations were carried out in various districts, including Qasur, Jhelum, Chakwal, Okara, Khanewal, Rawalpindi, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Rajanpur, Sialkot, Jhang, Attock, and Sahiwal. The CTD spokesperson stated that the operation resulted in the seizure of explosive materials from the suspects. A boat capsized in the Sindh River near the village of Ya’qub Manaro in Sujawal due to strong winds.
Commenting on the situation, Sheikh Afzal Murtaza said that the person who is now the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cannot even run a primary school, and the current Chief Minister of the province has failed to form a cabinet in six months. The police spokesperson announced that action will be taken against those driving vehicles without a driving license.
