The senior minister of Sindh, Syed Sharjeel Inam Memon, has strongly condemned an anti-Pakistan statement attributed to the sons of PTI founder Imran Khan. In his statement, Memon described the statement as a dangerous conspiracy against national interests. Memon said that such statements are unacceptable in any form, as the GSP Plus status of Pakistan is essential to its economy and is directly linked to the employment of millions of Pakistanis.
Memon further stated that making such statements under the pretext of political objectives is equivalent to harming national interests. He added that the impression is being created that the families of PTI’s founding members have not spoken against the GSP Plus status, which is a fact contradicted by reality.
Qasim Khan, a senator, expressed his support for the GSP Plus status, saying that he, like his father, is in favor of the status for the betterment of Pakistan. Memon warned the public to be aware of how certain groups are waging a campaign against the country.
The Sindh minister emphasized that Pakistan is currently facing economic challenges and that unity and seriousness are the most pressing needs in these circumstances. Memon stated that some individuals are forming anti-Pakistan statements in their private interests, adding that national interests cannot be compromised for politics.
