Iran-Russia Tensions Escalate as Drone Supplies Reports Emerge
Reports of Russia supplying drones to Iran have been denied by the Russian Foreign Ministry, with the spokesperson urging people to ignore the false media reports. The claims were made by a British media outlet, which reported that Russia was providing drones, medicines, and food to Iran, as well as satellite imaging and intelligence assistance. According to the report, Iran has requested additional advanced air defense capabilities from Russia, which has rejected its requests for the S-400 system.
However, the Kremlin has dismissed the reports as mere rumors, stating that it is in talks with Iranian leaders. A senior Western official has revealed that Russia is also working to ensure the broader political stability of the Iranian government. Israeli media has reported that Iran is spending millions of dollars to counter its small drones.
The ongoing tensions between the US and Iran have led to a significant increase in crude oil prices, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining a major point of contention. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with citizens in Tehran, where he expressed his solidarity and empathy with them.
Meanwhile, a 12-year-old Afghan refugee girl’s abductor and rapist has been identified and convicted. The US administration is reportedly considering various options to escalate the war against Iran, particularly if diplomatic efforts fail.
