In the city of Créteil, known as “Mini Pakistan,” a Pakistani-born candidate, Omar Youb, was elected mayor, accompanied by three Pakistani-born councilors. Chaudhry Ahmed Khan Jaliyani was elected mayor in Villier-le-Bel, Naeem Mohammad Chaudhry in Drancy, and Haroon Khan in La Courneuve, who won his third term as councilor. Asad was elected councilor in Arnouville. This development marks the beginning of the Pakistani overseas community’s foray into French politics.
