Three women who were deported from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan were arrested on human trafficking charges, according to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The women were detained during a routine immigration clearance process after they were suspected of involvement in human trafficking. During an initial interrogation, the women confessed to being involved in prostitution.
According to the FIA, one of the women was sent to Saudi Arabia by an agent named Shahin with a job offer, while the other women were sent by an agent named Rashid. The FIA stated that the Saudi police arrested the women during an operation and deported them to Pakistan after they completed their sentence. The women have been handed over to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell in Karachi for further investigation.
In a separate development, a hearing was held in a court in Lahore regarding a request for bail by Leeya Gangwar’s leader Aziz Baloch in seven cases. The bail request was denied for the second time. Federal Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar announced that he would speak to PTI founder Imran Khan’s children via phone on Eid, as part of a fact-finding mission. The team has started collecting evidence and records to ensure a fair and transparent report, said the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Human Rights.
According to a note, Indian airlines have been prohibited from flying Indian-registered planes over Pakistani airspace for another month. Pakistani airspace will remain closed for Indian planes until April 24. The Director-General of the Islamabad Security and Prisons Administration (ISPR) claimed that the drones used by the Taliban in Pakistan were provided by India.
