Dubai Airport Shifts Flights to Al Maktoum Due to Drone Attack Threat
In a shocking turn of events, Dubai Airport has redirected flights from Beijing, Auckland, and London to Al Maktoum Airport due to the threat of a drone attack. Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Sydney flights have also been diverted to the same airport. Currently, over 50 flights from various countries are waiting to depart from Dubai Airport, resulting in an average delay of 125 minutes. To ensure the safety of citizens, Dubai Media Office has stated that all necessary measures are being taken.
The decision comes after a drone attack near Dubai Airport, which forced authorities to ground flights in the air. A drone allegedly targeted a fuel tank at the airport, but fortunately, no one was injured. Earlier, Iran had issued a warning about possible attacks on Dubai and Doha.
According to Emirati Defense Ministry, 13 ballistic missiles were neutralized by their defense system. Iran’s authorities claim that an Israeli national was sentenced to death for espionage. Russia has condemned the assassination of Ali Larijani, the head of Iran’s National Security Council, and sent a message of condolences to the Iranian government and people.
The United Nations Fact-Finding Mission has stated that investigations are in their initial stages. Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the assassination of Ali Larijani, offering condolences to the Iranian government and people.
