Akshay Kumar Expresses Regret Over Missing Out on Dherendra Role
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has revealed that he feels a sense of regret for missing out on the role of Ranveer Singh in the film Dherendra. Kumar made this statement during a session in Delhi, titled “The Khiladi: Method Behind the Hit Machine”. When asked about his views on the blockbuster film Dherendra and the reason behind not being a part of it, Kumar stated that he did not feel that the director saw him as a suitable fit for the character, which is why he was not cast.
The film’s locations, which were showcased in the movie, have garnered significant attention from viewers. Kumar further expressed that when he meets Ranveer Singh, he often praises Dherendra as a fantastic film and wishes he had been a part of it. Kumar explained that the Indian film industry has a large pool of talented actors, with around 15-20 prominent actors working in the industry, alongside more than 180 films being produced every year. As a result, every actor gets a chance to work on a project, and while it’s natural to feel a sense of disappointment when not selected for a particular film, there is no room for jealousy.
Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film, Bhoot Bangla, is scheduled to release on April 10, 2026.
