Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has released a message on the occasion of World Day Against Islamophobia, emphasizing that Islamophobia undermines the values of social tolerance, fundamental religious freedom, and mutual respect and coexistence. He stated that Islam is a message of peace and harmony for all humanity, and attributing Islam to extremist ideologies is a blatant ignorance.
Sharif further emphasized that today’s day is a global voice against prejudice and discrimination against Islam and Muslims. He added that the day provides a global sense of relief for Muslims against religious prejudice and violent incidents. He emphasized that a civilized society does not differentiate between human rights based on faith but is based on mutual respect and sacrifice.
The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan condemns all forms of Islamophobia in accordance with international laws and Islamic teachings, and that all humans have equal rights. He added that Pakistan has always raised its voice against Islamophobia in international forums and will continue to work for interfaith harmony.
The notification of Pakistan International Airports announced the suspension of 80 flights from the country’s international airports to the Middle East on this day. The Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah, informed the public that 8 individuals, including 5 men and 3 women, were arrested in connection with the incident.
