Iran’s new Supreme Leader and Hezbollah’s new leader’s lives are not guaranteed, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has said. He stated that they can create conditions for a change of government in Iran. Bennett said that the change of government in Iran depends on the Iranian people taking to the streets. The Israeli media reported that a ballistic missile was fired by Iran towards the northern Israeli town of Zerzira, injuring dozens.
In a separate incident, the Saudi Ministry of Defense claimed to have destroyed 56 drones in the air, including one that was attempting to target the diplomatic area of Riyadh. Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Hossein Salami said that the world will witness a different Yom Kippur this year.
On the other hand, Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani warned that if Iran’s energy infrastructure is targeted, the entire Middle East will face severe consequences. The IRGC claimed that the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was hit by missiles, causing significant damage. Experts believe that the missiles were used to deceive Israel’s advanced air defense system.
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that an average of over 1,000 attacks are being carried out against Iran every day. The situation in the Middle East, particularly in the Gulf, is rapidly changing, with traditional weapons giving way to electronic warfare, satellite information, and radar signals.
The escalating tensions in the region come as the US Treasury Department announced that it has lifted sanctions on Russian oil by April 11. The situation remains volatile, with no clear resolution in sight.
