Dreadful Mosque Bombing Rocks Islamabad, Global Leaders Condemn Terrorist Act

A devastating terrorist attack on a mosque in Islamabad has sent shockwaves across the globe, with international leaders condemning the brutal act. American Congressman and Co-Chairman of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, Tom Suozzi, expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, saying that he was informed during his visit to Pakistan that the country has witnessed the highest number of terrorist attacks after Burkina Faso.
The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the blast, expressing deep grief over the loss of lives and injuries. In a statement, they said, “Terrorist attacks in Pakistan cause us great distress, and we must all work together to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and reject those who try to divide the people.”
Tom Suozzi emphasized the need for unity in the name of religious harmony, saying, “We must all come together to promote interfaith harmony.” Another American Congressman, Gregory Meeks, described the attack on the Khadija-e-Kubra mosque as “horrific” and stressed that Pakistani people must have the right to peaceful worship.
The mosque bombing in Islamabad’s Trelai area resulted in the loss of 32 lives and left over 150 injured. Minister of Defence Khawaja Asif claimed that India is trying to destabilize Pakistan through proxy wars, and that the terrorist attack was an attempt to hinder the country’s progress. He further stated that India is now using Afghanistan as a conduit for terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Barrister Gohar, termed the statement of Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, as “most irresponsible.” Karachi is also expected to experience smog and dust storm in the coming days. The Ministry of Interior stated that evidence suggests that the planning, training, and indoctrination of the attackers was carried out by Daesh in Afghanistan, under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban, which continues to pose a significant threat to regional peace.
Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, a member of the Supreme Court, said that the court would try to expedite the hearing of any case brought before it. The police said that the suspect arrested in connection with the blast has been found to be in possession of arms. Former Minister of Interior, Tariq Jamil, described the killing of innocent people as “a crime against humanity.”
Former Minister of Energy, Asad Umar, claimed that no step can be taken in the Ministry of Energy without the government’s consent. Federal Minister for Privatization, Muhammad Ali, stated that commercial activities are not the government’s business, and that the working class of Pakistan bears the burden of taxes.
US Ambassador to Pakistan, Natalia Bakiner, visited Sindh, reiterating their commitment to economic development and mutual cooperation. On January 30, PTI parliamentarians staged a protest outside the Supreme Court, with Registrar Supreme Court meeting with PTI representatives and allowing PTI’s lawyer, Salman Akram Raja, to meet the Chief Justice.
Former Minister of Finance, Miftah Ismail, stated that Pakistan is in a difficult situation, primarily due to a flawed political structure. Punjab Governor, Sardar Salim Haider, stated that India cannot subjugate the Pakistani nation through terrorism.
