A grand and dignified ceremony was held in Karachi to mark the 66th birthday of Japanese Emperor Naruhito. On this occasion, Japanese Consul General in Karachi, Hatorri Masaru, said that Japan would continue to work together with Pakistan to strengthen bilateral ties and promote mutual progress and prosperity through cooperation with federal and provincial governments. The dignitaries attending the reception ceremony included Sindh Governor, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, and Provincial Minister, Saad Ghani, along with other prominent figures from various fields. In his speech, Consul General Hatorri expressed his gratitude for Karachi hosting the third National Day ceremony and highlighted the long-standing and cordial relations between Japan and Pakistan, as well as the recent efforts made to further promote bilateral cooperation. He also shed light on Japan’s significant contributions to Pakistan’s social and economic development, particularly in the fields of education, healthcare, and disaster prevention. Sindh Governor, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, extended his heartiest congratulations to the Japanese government and people on their National Day. He praised Japan’s role in catering to the needs of Pakistani workers and students and acknowledged its role in promoting sustainable development and mutual cooperation. The ceremony also featured an exhibition of beautiful ikebana and bonsai, showcasing Japan’s timeless aesthetic traditions. The ceremony concluded with a traditional Japanese cake-cutting ceremony and a dinner featuring Japanese and Pakistani delicacies, symbolizing the long-standing friendship between the two countries. In other news, the Pakistan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan Railway project was considered crucial for regional connectivity. The two countries agreed to increase cooperation in energy, defense, tourism, and education. Opposition leader Maqsood Ahmad Chishti expressed frustration with the PTI’s social media behavior, saying that it was humiliating for the party.
In another development, the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad hosted an official ceremony on Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming the country’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. The two countries signed an agreement to establish an Intergovernmental Forum. PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan reiterated his stance that not even one percent risk should be taken on the health of the PTI’s founder.
