Pakistan and Kazakhstan have signed several agreements in various sectors, marking a significant step towards enhancing economic trade cooperation between the two nations. The agreements were signed during a ceremony where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and his delegation to Pakistan, stating that the visit was a crucial development in strengthening ties between the two countries.
In a keynote address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his commitment to implementing the agreed-upon memoranda of understanding and agreements. He emphasized that the implementation of these agreements would lead to an increase in economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations. The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of the Board of Peace in restoring peace and rebuilding Gaza.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his happiness over visiting Pakistan, describing it as a reliable partner. He stated that Pakistan and Kazakhstan are committed to working together towards achieving a $1 billion trade target. The President also commended Pakistan’s efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting, discussions were held on issues related to interfaith harmony and religious tolerance. The President also invited Pakistan to establish production plants in the country.
Meanwhile, in other news, the Sindh Police have arrested a man named Nadeem Jamali, who was wanted in connection with the firing incident that left two police officers injured in Karachi’s Argesian Colony on January 6. The police have also reported 3,730 missing persons cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, with 2,760 cases being resolved and 970 cases still under investigation.
In a separate development, the Ministry of Railways has announced the resumption of two trains, the Jaffar Express and the Chaman Passenger, from Quetta to Peshawar and Chaman, respectively. The trains will operate from today onwards.
Additionally, the opposition alliance, the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution, has announced that they will accept the government’s offer for talks. The government’s advisor on political affairs, Senator Rana Sanaullah, stated that the rules of fair elections will be decided by the politicians at the negotiating table.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s son, Qasim Khan, has expressed his desire to visit Pakistan with his father to meet him. A notification has been issued for the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the Gil Plaza tragedy in Karachi.
