Pakistan’s Power Distribution Companies have requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to transfer a burden of Rs 10.83 trillion to consumers as part of the second quarterly adjustment of the current financial year. According to a statement by NEPRA, the request includes Rs 242.4 billion capacity payments between October and December. The companies stated that operations and maintenance costs decreased by Rs 165.5 billion in the second quarter, while user of system charges and market operation fees decreased by Rs 300 billion, and the additional electricity consumption package reduced by Rs 7.152 billion.
The hearing on the power distribution companies’ request has been scheduled for February 17. The companies reaffirmed their unwavering support and full solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers. During the meeting, discussions were held on interfaith harmony and religious tolerance.
