Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has stated that past political differences have been misinterpreted as animosity, and people have been told to “divide and conquer,” promoting chaos and anarchy among the nation’s children. In a media interaction in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said she has no objection to being outside of prison, but she emphasized that it is her responsibility to serve the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and provide answers to her constituents.
She claimed that since the announcement of the Baisakhi festival, many people’s businesses have increased, and people from around the world are traveling to Lahore to celebrate the occasion. The city’s hotels and guesthouses are fully booked, she added.
Maryam Nawaz also stated that some people who claim to be in love with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) pick up guns and resort to violence. She expressed fear that if 600 people were to lose their lives in the violence, the bodies would be nowhere to be found.
The Punjab Chief Minister emphasized that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also selling Baisakhi decorations in Lahore, and she wants people to celebrate the festival in a completely safe manner. She stated that people have become tired of the politics of chaos and anarchy and that Punjab is leading in the fields of technology and AI.
Maryam Nawaz announced that a new law will be introduced in Punjab, which will impose a 10-year sentence on those who steal gutters, and heavy fines will also be imposed on them. She claimed that she has received requests from people in Faisalabad and Gujranwala to celebrate Baisakhi and that foolproof security arrangements will be made on the occasion.
The Punjab Chief Minister also stated that a strong monitoring system has been put in place to ensure the safety of the people during Baisakhi. She claimed that Punjab is a beautiful festival and that hundreds of beauty-related projects are being implemented in the province.
Maryam Nawaz also stated that in the past, Pakistan went through a period of inquality, but Punjab has seen a 70% improvement in law and order. She expressed her concerns about the Indian occupation of Kashmir and its impact on the global conscience.
