Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attta Tarar, has stated that a cowardly attack was launched by India’s proxy in Balochistan, and that India is facing severe difficulties due to its defeat in the war. In a media briefing in Lahore, Tarar stated that security forces have given a befitting response to the terrorists and pushed them back, and that the Prime Minister is fully aware of the situation in Balochistan. He further stated that a historic victory was achieved under the leadership of Field Marshal, and that India is facing severe difficulties due to its defeat in the war.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Interior, Senator Talal Chaudhry, has stated that Indian proxies are being trained and operated on the other side of the border. Tarar also stated that the Pakistani government is aware of the Indian proxy war and is taking steps to counter it. He further stated that security forces have dealt a heavy blow to the terrorists, and that the Indian proxy war is being exposed.
Tarar also criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, stating that it is in a state of chaos and is not aware of the issues facing the province. He stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is only concerned with language of criticism, and that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are providing billions of rupees to the government. He further stated that the PTI’s role is only to stage protests and sit outside the Adiala Jail, and that its leader received medical treatment only after getting permission from the party’s founder.
When asked about the recent floods in the country, Tarar stated that the Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, herself visited the affected areas after the floods, whereas the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has not taken any action. He also stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is not providing any relief to the people of the province.
In other news, the National Economic Council has approved four major development projects worth over 240 billion rupees. The government has also issued orders to launch operations against smugglers in the province. The Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, is expected to be transferred to the federal government. The Senate’s Standing Committee on Trade has asked tough questions to the Federal Board of Revenue on its performance.
The Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services, Azeem Khan, has apologized to the PPP Senator, Palwasha Khan, in the Senate. The Jamaat-e-Islami has criticized the Sindh Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah, for his statement on protests and sit-ins, stating that they are a democratic right. The Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, has stated that the country is facing an economic, political, and law and order crisis.
In a related development, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Mohammad Kremi Toudeshki, has stated that Iran will respond strongly if attacked by the United States. The smuggling of oil and other goods is a major issue in Balochistan, and the government is taking steps to curb it.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party meeting is expected to take place, with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sahibzada Saeed Afridi, expected to attend. The Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, is expected to be transferred to the federal government. The government has also approved the Punjab Regulation of Aerial Flights Act 2025.
