The governor expressed his concerns, saying that people are being live-burned in the plaza, and no resources are being allocated to prevent such incidents. He also criticized the authorities for compensating the victims’ families with money and silencing them.
The governor further stated that the city’s administrative resources are unable to save people’s lives, and the situation is dire. He emphasized the need to take concrete measures to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future and questioned the authorities about the arrangements made to address the issue.
In related news, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, is likely to be transferred to the federal government. Sources suggest that he will be given a new posting.
