A purported audio message of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Sheikh Waqas Akram has been leaked. In the audio message, Sheikh Waqas Akram is heard criticizing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, led by Chief Minister Saeed Afridi, for not allowing PTI Chairman Imran Khan to meet him. The audio message also reveals that the Chief Minister had called workers, not members of the provincial assembly, to participate in the recent dharna.
According to the audio message, the Chief Minister had said that workers, not members of the assembly, should be called to participate in the dharna. Sheikh Waqas Akram is heard saying that the Chief Minister’s statement was made at the outset of the dharna and that he had claimed to have a video clip of the statement.
The audio message also reveals that the Chief Minister had held a meeting in Peshawar the previous night, attended by Asad Qaiser and Janid Akbar, among others. Sheikh Waqas Akram is heard saying that the Chief Minister had not informed them that a dharna was planned and that the meeting was a farce.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawyers have demanded a written record of the medical examination of the party’s chairman from the Adiala Jail authorities. The medical examination was conducted after the PTI chairman was injured in an explosion in Dera Ghazi Khan. The injured and the donors are recovering quickly.
In a separate incident, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Lodhran has confirmed that 29 people were injured in the explosion. The Rescue and Fire Brigade teams are working to put out the fire.
