In a scathing response to the recent report on the Gul Plaza fire tragedy, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Manneem Zafar Khan, has stated that the incident cannot be linked to a child and escape liability. Khan further criticized the decision to form a committee under the leadership of the Karachi Commissioner, saying that the Commissioner himself is responsible for the tragedy.
Khan questioned the 40-minute delay in the rescue team’s arrival at the scene during the fire, and held all authorities responsible for not being on the ground immediately. He reiterated the demand for a judicial commission to investigate the tragedy, which has been pending since the first day.
The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Sardar Raza Khan, has announced a statement from the justice committee meeting, led by Justice Sardar Fasial Duggar. The court order states that the complainant’s grandson took the car without permission and the tragic incident occurred.
