Islamabad High Court’s Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced Pakistani Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, Advocate Iman Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali, to a 14-day judicial remand in a case related to a street fight. The court ordered a judicial remand after Advocate Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali were summoned for a seven-day physical remand, however, the judge later increased the remand period to 14 days. Advocate Iman Mazari was apprehended while driving her car near Serena Chowk Underpass.
During the court hearing, strict security arrangements were made, and lawyers and media personnel were not allowed into the courtroom. Earlier in the day, the couple was being taken to the District Court from the Islamabad High Court Bar when they were arrested. The couple was traveling in a vehicle belonging to the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, accompanied by the association’s president, Wajid Gilani, and a judge, Munir Jahia, while a police squad was following the vehicle.
