Heavy snowfall has hit the Muree region, causing severe disruptions in the area. In response to the situation, the Rawalpindi Commissioner, Amer Khattak, has announced that the roads connecting Rawalpindi to Islamabad have been closed. Mr. Khattak stated that rescue operations are underway to clear stranded vehicles in Muree, with the severe snowfall causing roads to become slippery and hazardous.
The Commissioner also mentioned that the communication network in Muree has been affected, leading to difficulties in maintaining contact with people in the area. He assured that efforts are being made to safely relocate tourists trapped in the region.
Amer Khattak urged tourists to avoid unnecessary travel to Muree, as the situation remains unpredictable. The Punjab Chief Minister is closely monitoring the situation, and rescue teams from the Rescue 1122, District Administration, and Police are working together to evacuate stranded individuals.
