The Punjab government has announced that any road or street dug up must have a complete plan in place, said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. Addressing the commissioners and deputy commissioners, Maryam Nawaz said that the plan for the road or street being dug up should be available with the authorities, and that the road or footpath should be built simultaneously, creating a walking track for the public. The Chief Minister further stated that open-air gyms should be constructed, fire safety systems should be strengthened, and streetlights should be installed in cities to ensure that no main hole is left open.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the level of main holes should be equal to the road, and not even half an inch above it. She also stated that no department should be allowed to dig up a road after the project’s completion.
