A disturbing incident has come to light in the UK, where an 8-year-old Hindu boy was forced to leave his school in London after staff members asked him to explain and justify the presence of a tilak on his forehead. According to reports from the international media, Insight UK, a social and advocacy organization, has stated that the staff at the Vicarage Green Primary School demanded an explanation from the boy for the tilak, which is a traditional Hindu mark worn on the forehead.
The reports further claim that the school’s head teacher allegedly kept a close eye on the boy during recess, causing him to feel anxious and pressurized. This led to the boy becoming withdrawn and separating himself from his peers. Insight UK has also accused the Vicarage Green Primary School of promoting religious bias, alleging that several other children from different faiths have left the school due to similar incidents.
