In a brazen daylight robbery, thieves targeted a citizen in the Jheel Chowrangi area of Karachi, making off with Rs 62 lakh. The incident took place when a city resident, who had withdrawn money from a bank in Clifton, was attempting to pay for a ride at the Jheel Chowrangi Chowk. The thieves, on motorcycles, chased and robbed the citizen, firing shots in the process.
As the thieves attempted to flee, a witness, Waqar Ahmed, was caught in the crossfire and succumbed to his injuries. The police have confirmed that the thieves, who were armed with guns, made their escape after the robbery.
