CEO of Rescue 1122, Abid Jalalani, revealed that the affected building was in a state of disrepair, with the rear section having collapsed earlier, and the front section still on the verge of collapse. The mayor assured that efforts were being made to locate and rescue those trapped in the building, with the fire department working tirelessly to extinguish the flames.
A total of 68 individuals are reported missing, with three more names being added to the list today. The Sindh government has announced that it will begin providing financial assistance to the families of the victims from tomorrow.
As the rescue operation continues, fears are growing that more bodies may be discovered in the rubble. Freezing temperatures are expected to persist in Karachi over the next three days, which may complicate the rescue efforts.
