Former Federal Minister for Information and Senior Politician Fawad Chaudhry has appealed to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif to play a key role in lowering the current national tensions. In an interview with Geo News, Chaudhry requested Sharif to contribute to bringing the current political situation in the country to a better position.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah said that he has no knowledge of the contact between Mahmood Achakzai and Nawaz Sharif. He stated that the National Dialogue Committee has requested a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, but he has not yet received a response.
Chaudhry emphasized the need for Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Asif Zardari to engage in dialogue to establish stability in the country. He also suggested that releasing prisoners held in Kot Lakhpat jail would have a positive impact on the situation.
PML-N President and party leader Nawaz Sharif has also supported the proposal to provide funds to Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir under the National Finance Commission (NFC) award. He inquired about the policy of the PTI, stating that half of the party supports revolution and the other half advocates for dialogue.
Chaudhry further stated that different individuals, including Barrister Ghulam Nabi, a junior minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Salmam Akram Raja, have different views on the situation. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister has stated that he is with the families of those who have lost their lives, and that better medical facilities should be provided to the wounded.
In other news, the temperature in Karachi has dropped to 15 degrees Celsius, the lowest recorded temperature in the city. The Sindh Chief Minister has directed an investigation into the fire safety arrangements in buildings and has ordered strict enforcement of fire safety laws.
The police reported that several villages in Mir Ali have been cut off due to the collapse of a bridge. Rescue workers stated that the body of fireman Fragan has been shifted to the Trauma Center.
The Sindh Chief Minister stated that government machinery has been working day and night to put out the fire, and the extent of the damage will be assessed after the fire is extinguished.
In another incident, a woman killed her sister in a village in Khushab district. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saeed Afridi, was blocked by local politicians while traveling through the Havelian area.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai has stated that he wants the foreign policy to be made in Parliament, and a conference should be held to discuss the situation in the region.
The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) reported that a crackdown is underway against organized groups, and further arrests are expected. The arrested woman is already wanted in several cases, and the inquiry report has implicated the DSP.
