Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that healthcare facilities are a fundamental right for every citizen, and the government is working to provide these facilities to the people. He expressed these views during the launch of the Health Card Program. The Prime Minister stated that the Health Card Program was initiated by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 2016, which has been implemented in provinces, benefiting thousands of families. He said that with good health, people will be able to secure respectable employment, and young people will be able to excel in their respective fields and bring glory to the country.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Health Card Program is being implemented in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, and its launch is a continuation of the government’s commitment to public welfare. He stated that access to healthcare and medical facilities is a basic right for every Pakistani citizen, and he commended the Minister of Health, Mustafa Kamal, Secretary of Health, and the entire team for their efforts.
The Prime Minister instructed officials to ensure transparency in the program through third-party involvement. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of the state to provide support to the weaker segments of society and to take care of the medical needs of ordinary citizens. The Prime Minister stated that the Health Card Program is being implemented rapidly in Punjab, with billions of rupees being spent on healthcare in the province. Similar programs are also being implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The government is utilizing all available resources to alleviate the suffering of the people, and the Ministry is working to minimize the difficulties faced by the public, said Minister of Health, Mustafa Kamal.
