Israel has secured a record-breaking number of deals with its major partners, valued in the billions of dollars, in the sectors of energy, technology, and defense. The agreements are significant, as they provide Israel with an opportunity to sell its military equipment and surveillance systems to its occupied Palestinian territories and other countries in the region, which it has already demonstrated in the international market.
The number one deal is a $35 billion energy agreement with Egypt, which is the largest energy deal in Israeli history. Israel will supply Egypt with gas from 2026 to 2040. In response to the growing public outrage over the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Egyptian government has stated that the deal is purely commercial and should not be seen as a political statement.
The number two deal is a $32 billion technology deal with Alphabet, the parent company of Google. This is the largest technology deal in Israeli history. Meanwhile, Israeli cybersecurity firm Wiz has been acquired by Google’s parent company Alphabet.
The number three deal is a $25 billion deal with Palo Alto Networks, a US-based cybersecurity company, which has acquired Israeli cybersecurity firm CyberArk. This deal is expected to be completed after regulatory and shareholder approvals.
The number four deal is a $3.1 billion defense agreement with Germany, which has approved an additional $3.1 billion expansion of the Arrow-3 ballistic missile defense contract, making it the largest defense export deal in Israeli history.
In other news, New Zealand-based accounting software company Xero has acquired Israeli fintech company Melio, marking the largest overseas acquisition in New Zealand’s history.
The number six deal is a $2.6 billion agreement with Munich Re, a German multinational insurance company, which has acquired Israeli insurance technology firm Next Insurance.
The number seven deal is a $1.5 billion investment by US-based software company Nvidia, which has announced plans to establish its largest artificial intelligence data center in Israel, south of Haifa. This will be Nvidia’s largest research and development center outside of the United States.
In other international news, US President Donald Trump has stated that if countries do not support American control over Greenland, he will impose tariffs on them. Greenland is crucial for American national security.
In a separate development, the US has warned Canada that it will face consequences if it decides to allow the importation of Chinese electric vehicles (EVs). Canada has already made a decision to allow the importation of Chinese EVs, which has been met with strong opposition from the US.
