Pakistan’s Sindh province has made significant strides in improving its healthcare system, with a focus on providing free cancer treatment and establishing international standard medical facilities.
Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, briefed the media on the province’s performance and future strategy, highlighting the efforts to strengthen the healthcare system across the entire province. He stated that the Sindh government is providing free medical facilities to citizens, including international standard medical facilities and free treatment for cancer patients.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the importance of Tharparkar’s development in the overall growth of Sindh. He stated that the province has established 11 international standard medical facilities (NICVD) and has treated over 2.9 million patients in the past year.
The Chairman also highlighted the province’s achievements in education, stating that the number of universities in Sindh has increased from 10 in 2008 to 30 in the present day. He added that the government has established the Gambat Medical College in 2017 and has initiated the Benazir Income Support Program, a significant social safety net.
