Tehran, Iran – In a recent statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the nation’s preparedness for both war and diplomatic negotiations. According to foreign news agencies, Araghchi stated that extremist groups have targeted protesters and security forces, and that the current situation is under complete control.
Araghchi went on to say that peaceful protests in Iran turned violent over the past few days, resulting in the burning of 350 mosques during demonstrations over the past two weeks. The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his opinion that former US President Donald Trump’s interference led to the bloodshed, aiming to create a pretext for intervention. He stated that Iranian forces have shown the utmost tolerance during the violent protests.
Araghchi acknowledged that the protesters’ demands were legitimate, and that the government had been actively listening to them. The Iranian Foreign Minister’s statement comes as a senior official from the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mullah Nur Ahmad Nur, recently visited New Delhi. The US Department of State has announced that over a million visas have been revoked since the return of former US President Donald Trump to power, as part of the Trump administration’s strict immigration policy.
The US Embassy advised American citizens to consider leaving Iran by land routes through Armenia or Turkey. According to news agencies, most buildings in Gaza were located along the Israeli-occupied yellow line and were completely destroyed. Senior officials, led by Vice President Kamala Harris, have urged Trump to explore diplomacy before launching an attack on Iran.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei expressed his appreciation for the government’s handling of the protests, praising the Iranian nation as strong, powerful, and informed. In a separate development, Hamas has instructed the transfer of Gaza’s administration to the Palestinian Authority.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that Commander Purnendu Tiwari, a former Indian Navy official, was re-arrested in Qatar. The Somali Cabinet has revoked all agreements with the United Arab Emirates. Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that communications between Araghchi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are maintained as necessary, with traditional mediation by Switzerland also ongoing.
