Mogadishu: Somalia’s cabinet has decided to terminate all agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), citing the country’s alleged involvement in undermining Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. According to Arab media reports, the Somali cabinet stated that the UAE’s interference and activities pose a threat to an independent and self-governing state, and violate the principles of respecting the sovereignty and independence of other nations.
The cabinet claimed to have evidence of the UAE’s alleged interference and activities, which led to the decision to terminate all security and defense cooperation agreements with the UAE. Somalia has also annulled its agreements with the UAE on the management of three of its ports.
