Pakistan’s Sindh Governor Sahil Anwer Afreidi has departed for Islamabad, leaving behind a trail of chaos as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) rally in Karachi remained delayed. According to reports, the scheduled flight was three hours behind schedule and departed at around 6 pm.
Before leaving Karachi, the governor met with former Member of the National Assembly Fehm Khan and PTI leaders at his residence. During the visit, PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja, Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, Omar Dar, Rehana Dar, Naeem Hyder Panchotra, Shahbaz Bhatti, and other leaders also attended.
The governor’s visit to Mazar-e-Quaid was marked by the laying of flowers and a prayer ceremony, with several PTI leaders in attendance. Meanwhile, PTI’s PK leader added his thoughts to the guest book.
Justice Yousaf Ali Saad expressed his concerns about the government’s written response to the situation. Provez Elahi’s health is reported to be unstable, with doctors advising him to rest. In response, the government has canceled several flights, including two flights from Abu Dhabi, two flights from Skkhur, and two flights from Lahore.
Sahil Anwer Afreidi’s scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss issues related to law and order, floods, and the recent PTI rally was reportedly canceled. The governor’s wife had divorced her first husband three years ago.
