Indonesia has expressed its desire to further strengthen its defense ties with Pakistan. Indonesian Defense Minister held a meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Staff and Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. According to the ISPR, the meeting focused on exploring sectors for bilateral defense cooperation and discussing regional and global security situations. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening Indonesia-Pakistan defense industrial cooperation and institutional ties. The meeting also highlighted the significance of training cooperation between the two countries. Indonesian Defense Minister praised the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged the sacrifices made by them in the fight against terrorism.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening enduring defense ties with Indonesia, promoting Pakistan-Indonesia cooperation based on shared values and strategic interests. Several flights, including a Lahore-Abu Dhabi flight and two Islamabad-Sukkur flights, were canceled due to a flight schedule.
In a separate development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif summoned Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for a meeting to discuss security and relief efforts following the recent floods. However, Sanaullah did not attend the meeting. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a protest march from the Quaid-e-Azam House to the National Assembly, demanding the resignation of the government and the reversal of the ordinance.
A statement released by the PTI leaders claimed that the Prime Minister had advised the reversal of the ordinance under Article 89/2 of the Constitution. The announcement stated that the National Assembly would be notified by the federal government, and the new basic electricity tariff would come into effect from January 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out in a car in the Khatoonabad area of Karachi, injuring two women. According to the rescue officials, the women were workers at a local factory. The US Embassy in Islamabad advised American citizens to consider leaving Iran via land routes through Armenia or Turkey if possible.
