Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, met with his Omanese counterpart, Badr Albusaidi, in Tehran. The two foreign ministers discussed strengthening bilateral ties, exploring ways to boost cooperation in various sectors, and reviewed regional security and stability. According to an American official, the two leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on sensitive issues, although the details of the talks were not disclosed.
Omani Foreign Minister Albusaidi stated that his country will maintain positive relations with Iran for regional stability and security. His Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, praised Oman for its significant role in promoting regional peace and stability. He added that during Albusaidi’s visit, they discussed regional security and bilateral relations.
The Iranian government has reported that 490 protesters and 48 security personnel have been killed in the ongoing protests. A video clip shared by Araghchi showed scenes of vandalism, looting, and arson attacks on public and private transportation. The clip also showed individuals using petrol bombs with skill.
Meanwhile, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel responded to US President Donald Trump’s statement on Cuba, stating that Cuba is an independent and sovereign nation. Diaz-Canel added that those who view human lives as a business venture do not have a moral justification to intervene in Cuba’s affairs.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi accused the US and Israel of instigating the unrest in Iran. Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid stated that the Iranian people deserve freedom and that there is no enmity between Israel and the Iranian people. He added that the Iranian government is a regional and international issue.
Iran’s embassy in Islamabad reported that Iranian President Raisi stated in his address that the government is working to resolve issues and reduce public problems. A social media user reportedly claimed that Cuban President-elect Marco Rubio would be Cuba’s next leader, prompting US President Trump to comment, “I like that.”
The Iranian Human Rights organization reported that 192 people have been killed in the protests that have been ongoing for two weeks. In a separate incident, four people were killed in a car accident in Bolton, UK. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf warned that protests can lead to chaos.
