Peshawar, KP – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has once again requested the federal government to provide funds to alleviate the financial crisis in the province. In a letter to the federal government, KP’s Adviser on Finance, Mezmal Aslam, stated that the federal government has provided limited funds for the first six months of the financial year 2025-26. Out of the allocated 292 billion rupees for the merged districts, only 56 billion rupees have been released.
The participants expressed that the KP government has failed to provide governance, with no clear policies for health, education, infrastructure, and public welfare. The letter stated that the released funds constitute 19% of the annual budget, and KP has allocated 16.4 billion rupees from its own resources. The failure to receive federal funds may affect KP’s surplus budget of 157 billion rupees. Mezmal Aslam stated that the lack of federal funds has affected health, education, and development projects, and the merged districts are facing a financial crisis.
In other news, a Lady Constable was suspended and a case was registered against her at the Women Police Station. She claimed that the foundation stone for various developmental projects in the Old City Area has been laid. The track from the Peoples Chowk to the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum and the track from the Khudadad Colony have been closed.
Pakistan has reiterated its support for Somalia’s stability and security. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar stated that today is the last day of KP Chief Minister Shehbaz Afridi’s visit to Sindh. The FIA spokesperson stated that 16,000 US dollars were recovered from the arrested PECS officer. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated the Pakistan Navy on successfully conducting a missile test. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the Health Minister, Secretary Health, and the PMDC administration to expedite the treatment of the victims.
The Rangers spokesperson stated that millions of rupees’ worth of goods were recovered during the operation with the Customs Enforcement. Pakistan strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Somalia. Saeed Afridi, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, was attacked by unknown assailants in Hyderabad, where he was on his way back to Karachi. The police stated that the bodies and injured were shifted to the hospital, where some of the injured are in a critical condition.
According to the rescue sources, 5 people lost their lives in the accident. The police stated that over 30 people have been taken into custody, and one police officer was injured due to the brutality of the protesters.
