Sindh Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has expressed his disapproval over PTI’s decision to hold a rally on the road, stating that it was not a suitable move. In a statement issued from Karachi, Shah said that the PTI leadership had been explicitly informed that the Jinnah Bagh rally was allowed, and that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saeed Afridi, was present at the Jinnah Bagh himself, and had given his consent for the rally.
He further stated that it was the PTI who had initially requested to hold the rally at Jinnah Bagh, and not on the road. The Minister emphasized that the government would provide all possible cooperation to the PTI for holding the rally at the designated ground, and that Jinnah Bagh was a federal property, and the formal delay in issuing the permit was a mere procedural issue.
The Minister also announced that a lady constable who was arrested had been suspended, and a case had been registered against her at the Women Police Station. He claimed that various development projects in the Old City area had been initiated, including the laying of the foundation stones for different projects. He also stated that the tracks from Peoples’ Chorangi to Quaid-e-Azam’s Mazar and from Khudadad Colony had been closed.
In a separate development, Pakistan has reiterated its support for the stability and security of Somalia, and emphasized the need for continuous support in this regard. PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar, stated that today was the last day of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Saeed Afridi’s visit to Sindh.

According to the police, the bodies and injured have been shifted to the hospital, where some of the injured are in a critical condition. According to rescue sources, five people have lost their lives in the incident. The police have arrested over 30 workers and one police officer has been injured in the violence.
