Woman Held Captive in Karachi’s Defense Phase 5 Rescued After Police Intervention
In a shocking incident, a woman was rescued from a flat in Karachi’s Defense Phase 5 after being chained by her ex-husband. The police said that the woman was rescued after receiving a complaint from the residents of the area. The woman, a resident of Sheri-i-Nigar Colony, was allegedly held captive by her ex-husband who had invited her to his residence with a false promise of providing financial assistance for their children.
According to the police, the woman was chained in a room on the third floor of the building. The police said that a case has been registered against the woman’s ex-husband and his accomplice under the charges of torture, illegal confinement, and harassment.
The police also stated that over 30 people have been taken into custody in connection with the case, and one police official was injured during the scuffle with the protesters. The police constable who was involved in the incident has been suspended, and a case has been registered against him at the Women’s Police Station.
In other news, the Chairman of the PTI, Barrister Gohar, said that the last day of the visit of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sahil Afridi, to Sindh has arrived. The FIA spokesperson said that the arrested suspect has revealed a sum of $16,000.
The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, congratulated the Pakistan Navy for successfully conducting a missile test. The Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, directed the Health Minister, Secretary Health, and the PMDC administration to remain alert and provide all possible medical aid to the victims.

According to the police, the bodies and injured were shifted to the hospital, where the condition of some of the injured is critical. The rescue sources said that 5 people lost their lives in the incident. The police said that over 30 people have been taken into custody, and a police official was injured during the scuffle with the protesters.
