Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Adviser, Shafiq Jan, has stated that the PML-N is in a state of disarray, with many things slipping out of their hands. In an interview with Geo News, Shafiq Jan and PML-N Senator Rana Sanaullah discussed the ongoing protests in the province. Shafiq Jan expressed gratitude towards the Sindh government for allowing them to pass through the Airport, Bagh-e-Jinnah, and Karachi Press Club without any hindrance. However, it took six hours to reach Bagh-e-Jinnah from the airport due to the large number of people on the roads.
Meanwhile, KP Chief Minister’s Adviser, Rana Sanaullah, stated that the PTI is not in a position to start a new protest movement. He added that the PML-N is politically dead, devoid of any vision, and that’s why they are trying to hold protests on May 9 and the current Pehechaan Jam Hool protest. Shafiq Jan further stated that the PML-N is in a state of chaos, with nothing in their hands, and that’s why they are trying to hold protests in the province.
KP Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan, stated that even Punjab was visited, but they were not treated well. He added that if the protest is unsuccessful, they will have to close the Liberty and other areas, which would be unjust. Shafiq Jan also stated that a letter was written to the Punjab government regarding Saheil Afridi’s visit, but they were not allowed to hold political activities in the province.
The Punjab government has been accused of mishandling the situation, with reports emerging that 30 PTI workers have been arrested, and one police officer has been injured. The police have also claimed that 16,000 US dollars were recovered from a PTI worker arrested by the PECHS police station.
In other news, Pakistan has condemned Israel’s actions in Somalia, and has called for international support to strengthen the country’s stability and security.
